Ipswich Town Kit Donation to FNKD Ipswich for their Children’s Center in Uganda
When the determination to provide for people less fortunate wins through and the joy of being given something so simple makes such a massive impact.
For the children in Bucence, these kits are more than clothing. They represent belonging, identity, and pride. Instead of wearing improvised outfits they step onto the pitch looking and feeling like a real team.
Having a proper kit changes how they see themselves. It builds confidence, encourages participation, and gives a sense of being valued. In environments where resources are limited, something as simple as a football kit carries real weight.
The day the children received their Ipswich Town Football Kits became one of the happiest days in their lives – they were so excited and overjoyed and expressed their thanks by dancing. They have been recognised and supported.
Thank you to everyone who makes this kind of donation and action happen – it’s immeasurable.
Generosity given
Brand new football kits were donated to FNKD for all of the children in Bucence Children’s Home by Ipswich Town Football Club (ITFC) and the Ipswich Town Foundation. FNKD Ipswich shipped the kits to Uganda in time for Rachel’s visit, where they were presented to the surprised and very happy children. We called them ‘Ipswich Town Juniors of Bucence’ in South Western Uganda.
How did It Start?
The initial idea came after images were shared showing children playing in high-visibility bibs to represent teams. The suggestion was made to source football kits through ITFC to provide proper team identity. This led to discussions and the start of the outreach process to improve the experience for the children.
